What normal, healthy teenager with 358 Facebook friends and an overdue term paper would even consider sitting down for two hours, tucking an carved piece of old wood under their chins, and pulling horsehair across four metal strings? The 125 extraordinary young musicians that comprise the five ensembles of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, that's who! The magic they create together, the music to which each player contributes, is a powerful force that lifts them out of the everyday, connects them to each other and the deep mysteries of their timeless art. Long after the last note has faded away and the applause is but a memory, these magical/musical experiences remain alive and vital for each of our players.
