Chamber Music

Having the opportunity to learn and perform chamber music is a core value here at PACO.  In addition to weekly orchestra rehearsals, each of our young musicians is given the opportunity to join a string quartet or trio, provided with regular coaching sessions by top professional musicians, and given the opportunity to perform on their orchestra’s public concert programs.

Playing chamber music opens up an vast, amazing new repertoire of pieces: from Baroque trio sonatas and Haydn string quartets through Beethoven Brahms and Shostakovich to the challenges of contemporary music. But even more important than that is the opportunity to make music in an intimate setting, one on a part, where students can develop important life skills that include collaboration and team work, imagination and creativity, compassion and empathy.

Plays well with others is more than a motto: it is a philosophy that underlies the culture of our PACO community.
